Some time back, Microsoft announced that they were changing the engine for Microsoft Edge. They are going to the same engine as Chrome. The ‘look’ of the Edge Browser is changing but it is still an ‘Edge’ browser.

Over the years, we have had to keep at least two browsers on our desktops. Some browsers don’t work on some sites. Even some sites that were Microsoft related worked better with a different browser.

We have been using the early trial version. The good news is that so far, it has worked with ever site that we’ve gone to. Very impressive.

More good news. It is in beta but has been released to the general public. Here is the site: https://www.microsoftedgeinsider.com/en-us/

When you go to the site, it may automatically detect your OS. If not then select the download option. Currently supported OS’s:

1. Windows 10

2. Windows 8.1

3. Windows 8

4. Windows 7

5. macOS

The one that surprised us was Windows 7. The current version of Edge does not run on Windows 7. Windows 7 has officially been cancelled. But you can get the new version of Edge for it. Weird.
